Beautiful cinematography, and some great French performances. It is, indeed, a rambling plot but for the most part it's an enjoyable ride– though don't expect to be moved or to end up caring about any of the characters. Greta Gerwig and Brady Corbet both had small cameos and they were both, unfortunately, pretty bad. Gerwig especially struggled. There was also a couple of weird and off-putting direct address to camera moments which felt like a really crappy and inappropriate homage to Arnaud Desplechin.

This movie is terrible. Even if you love house/garage music from the 70/80/90’s and you appreciate good cinema, it is still awful. I can’t believe how positive these reviews are. There’s no plot, terrible acting, most of the time it is unclear what is even happening and what the relationships are between these people. And it is depressing. Don’t bother, it’s a waste of time.

It seemed like a good movie but there are NO English subtitles. I love France but sadly don't speak French. I had no clue what was happening, but the music was great.

Mia Hansen-Løve’s film rambles, meanders and often seems aimless. Yet just when you think it is veering off the rails, something jolts you back into the movie. I don’t think it is accidental. Based on the real life experience of twenty years of her brother’s life within the French Garage Club scene starting with early 90’s raves to full-on Garage/House to 2013 when the beats have changed to something more abstract. The film offers little insight into the history, but it is a bittersweet reminder that getting lost in the music is as much fun as it can be sad. A solid movie.

This is such a special immersive movie that takes you through the many turns of someone’s young life, like only the French can do

I enjoyed the movie. Wish they would of showed how Daft Punk was partying also.
