Description

In February of 2010, the Philadelphia Police Department and the FBI raided the offices of Dr. Kermit Gosnell, a respected physician who was known for performing late-term abortions in West Philadelphia. What investigators discovered upon entering the clinic was unthinkable. Through exclusive interviews with detectives, crime scene investigators, journalists, victims, and Dr. Gosnell himself, 3801 LANCASTER: AMERICAN TRAGEDY tells a story of violence, greed, and a cover up that shook the nation.

informative. Beyond disturbing and infuriating. (there was one baby that was born and an employee was playing with it for several minutes before they took scissors and severed its spinal cord). there are some awful people in this world.

Documentaries should be objective or they should be up front about their bias. this film is disguised propaganda against planned parenthood. If I wanted to see a political piece I'd have rented a Michael Moore film. If I'm wrong about my assessment it's because they did a horrible job editing the narrative.

This documentary is well researched and chilling. Individuals on either side of the abortion issue will benefit from realizing how the horrific events of 3801 Lancaster were allowed to happen. The truth of this tragedy is weighty, but educating ourselves can help prevent a repetition.

The facts about Gosnell, his practice, and the failure of our government to hold him accountable earlier are unreal. Regardless of your personal stance on abortion, this is a must-watch documentary. Folks on both sides have much to learn from this story.

    Beyond sobering but incredibly informative.
  • Regardless of which side you are on, on the issue of abortion, you need to see this movie.

A terrifying exposé on the true victims of the "political football" of abortion. Regardless of which side you are on, you need to see this movie. Perenially overlooked by all except the rabid extremists, the controversy of legalized abortion in the united states seems to have become firmly entrentched as a permenant fixure in the political batting cage. This powerful film approaches the topic with a journalistic lens, devoid of the stilted dogma of other such films in the documetnry genre. Rather than focusing on the meta-issues of morality or religion, the film approaches the story through the human experience of eye witnesses and the victems themseves. The power of this film is its quiet voice and unrelenting testamony of those closest to this dark and disturbing criminal case. The insights it offers to the plight of the American political system and Pensylvania state department in particular are arresting. Highly reccomended as a primer on political curruption the power of greed and the human cost of turning a blind eye to evil.

This film was well made & tells an important story that you need to hear. We tend to live our lives without realizing what may be happening right next door. This is a heart breaking story of what can happen when no one is looking out for the most marginalized people. Don't avert your eyes from difficult truths in our community, but engage them so that we can begin to make changes.
