Description

Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz, at the height of the their fame in "I Love Lucy," take a big-screen road trip in a car with a Long, Long Trailer. As they travel across the United States, everything that can go wrong does go hysterically wrong for the first couple of comedy as they try to celebrate their honeymoon on the road. An overloaded trailer, an isolated mountain road and a judge who hates trailers all add up to a very, very funny movie.

This is eye candy throughout with great Technicolor! The print quality is quite good (not HD) but the sound is just average. Some of the slapstick is still pretty funny, but other parts seem flat, but where this really shines is the segment where Lucy and Dezi must climb an 8000 ft mountain with that giant trailer in tow! That segment is pure genius with great camera angles and engine sounds along with them trying to make small talk while they go through the gates of hell! Seeing it again, I can see that they tilted the camera to make the steep road seem even steeper, but it still adds to the bizarre comic tension. Many character actors from the period add to the fun (although Apple has removed their names from the poster.) I think most people (even younger ones) will get some laughs ou of this, so I recommend a purchase or rent.

If your a fan of I Love Lucy this is a must watch. It's basically one long episode with the same Lucille Ball and Dezi Arnez comedy and chemistry.
