When an elite crime squad's lead detective (Michael Fassbender) investigates the disappearance of a victim on the first snow of winter, he fears an elusive serial killer may be active again. The execution of this movie was pretty poor
  • Finally a movie you can not predict like all new boring Hollywood movies.

Great to see a movie that challenges your brain in every turn and does not serve the plot just in the first five minutes like all the dumb down recent movies.

It was interesting. This is a slow moving film that proves to be an enjoyable watch. I wouldn’t purchase it but a Netflix cued movie is more like it. Gotta love Netflix for movie that don’t make the “I’ll Buy That” roster.
  • Not like the book

Was so excited to watch after reading the book. I felt like I was watching a completely different storyline compared to the book. Several major events were removed from the movie version, that ultimately killed the vibe. It follows the book MAYBE 20% but everything else is quite different. To be honest, I found the movie hard to follow, even after I read the book. Can’t figure how someone who lacked a background knowledge would be able to follow it.

I don’t know why the bad reviews, it was a good suspense movie. You have to pay attention, typical scandianvian plot. Wow what happen to Val Kilmer. Great location shots, burr.

I found this to be an enjoyable movie. It was not as much of an action thriller as I expected it to be, but it did have its moments to shine. The cast was amazing, though at times the chemistry was not quite as amazing. It’s one of those movies where you need to go back and watch it again to grasp the entertainment in it. It just stinks that Val Kilmer can’t seem to catch a break now a days.

Horrible. Wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. Then, I was forced to sit through all that for a crappy ending.
  • This film is unfinished

For everyone wondering what’s blatantly wrong with The Snowman: it’s an unfinished film with a theatrical release. 15% of the screenplay was never filmed. Future cult classic on your hands right here.
  • Poorly made, weak plot...

Spoiler: You know within the first few minutes that this is filmed as a "B" movie with terriblly cheap green screen in the first few minutes when his mother breaks through the ice in her volvo. The shot of him through the window is awful green screen editing. Then the water entering the car is low grade CG. This set the tone for me for the rest of the movie. There is a list of great stars in this movie. I couldn't believe the list: Of course Michael Fassbender, Chloe Sevigny, Val Kilmer, J. K. Simmons, and more... But the story was weak; the budget was obviously very low, or eaten up by the A cast list; and the villian was underdeveloped and we couldnt' care less what happens with him. I thought the 7% viewer rating was a bit exagerated but I think this is pretty accurate. How does Fassbender go from Alien... to this! Very embarrasing for Michael. Lets hope the next Alien movie wakes him up and restores his reputation. Two stars because I'm a sucker for foreign filmed thrillers in the snow... especially in Norway or Sweden.. (this one in Norway). There was so much potential for a great thriller here but it just never arrived.
