Description

The Divorce Party is a dramatic comedy that tells the story of Nate (Thomas Cocquerel) and Susan Brown (Claire Holt, “The Originals”), a married couple in their twenties. When Susan suddenly realizes she's miserable and wants a divorce, Nate packs his bags and heads for the nearest hotel. He soon discovers that he has been abandoned by his "friends" as he enters lonely single life. But when his former wedding planner, Katie (Matilda Lutz), offers to help Nate organize a glitzy "divorce party" to celebrate his new status, Nate starts to warm up to his new life, and finds that a new love may be waiting at the end of his ordeal.

The underlying misogyny of this movie makes it unwatchable: every male character is without fault, every female character is a secret witch.

Best movie ever!! Mostly because I love the actress in it. Other actors/actresses are good the best actresses is Claire Holt

I could relate to it in a way found it interesting to see how the controlling women can be and the sadness it brings to both people. Interesting to see the two make it in the end as individuals together.

Spoil alert: Not even invited to the party! Takes you through the whole emotional rollercoaster for an hour & some minutes & don’t even get rewarded with the party shenanigans. However, Actors were amazing, storyline didn’t give them justice.

My friends that love French films (I do too by the way) always say American films are cut and jump quickly from situation to situation! Well if this film were in French rather than English would that be true! I love this film as an old romantic. Just sit back and absorb the relationship of all these thirty-somethings working on their issues. I get to watch it with no reviews to sway me, only my own feelings. Watched it 4 times. Matilda Anna Engrid Lutz is a true future star (hopefully). The guy that is the gay artist is particularly memorable (though I don't know his name, I will look it up). Good slow paced love story.
