Description

When media-savvy members of the Satanic Temple organize a series of public actions designed to advocate for religious freedom and challenge corrupt authority, they prove that with little more than a clever idea, a mischievous sense of humor, and a few rebellious friends, you can speak truth to power in some truly profound ways. As charming and funny as it is thought-provoking, Hail Satan? offers a timely look at a group of often misunderstood outsiders whose unwavering commitment to social and political justice has empowered thousands of people around the world. An inspiring and entertaining new feature documentary from acclaimed director Penny Lane (Nuts!, Our Nixon).

  • Freedom of speech.

I’m no Satanist but I do believe in freedom of speech and religious freedom. And I learned that not everyone has to be a Christian. They can have their own beliefs and not afraid to express their views and beliefs. Plus I’m a registered independent voter who takes sides with the Democrats that support separation of church and state. But to my conservative Republican friends, you need to leave them alone and respect their beliefs and views.

In truth, I'm more likely to rate this as a 4 star movie, but I know that there are going to be those who based on the title alone are going to rate it with a single star, and trash the whole thing sight unseen. I'll throw in an extra star to help fight against that. This is a really good documentary about something near and dear to my heart — standing up to those people who want to thrust their religion down my throat. I'd rather choke on some wine with my Satanic friends. Hail Satan!

If you care about democracy and true religious freedom then dont miss this. Side note: No one actually worships “Satan” because Satan is an idea not a real thing.

I can’t believe this is even a thing! Those people who hail satan won’t like it when they get down to hell and are being buried for the rest of eternity. I just don’t understand why would anyone want that ! How could those people turn there back on god he is the one who created them and this whole world! I just don’t understand how this world has turned out to be like this. It’s sad to know that my children will have to grow up such a terrible world!

This documentary is amazing, I loved every minute of it and it really opened my eyes on christian supremacy in America.
  • A religion?

If this is described as a group of trolls, how does it pass for a “religion”? What a joke.
  • People messing with evil

The fact that people just don’t get it that the whole Satan thing is not a game is beyond me. Keep messing with an evil you have not comprehension or fear about. It’s not going to turn out well. This is not about freedom of religion, this is about pure evil. Also, go read history and the memoirs of the people who wrote the Constitution. They believed that God was the one who bestowed life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

It was a very interesting, informative, and overall enjoyable watch. Shows what real satanists are and breaks misconceptions.

Captivating film that explores the true meaning of being an American. I can’t believe the steps that the TST has to go to open people’s eyes to how the Judeo Christian church has twisted the American Constitution.
