Description

In Provence, Louise struggles to raise two kids and save her late husband’s fruit tree business. When she accidentally hits a stranger named Pierre with her car, it seems like the last straw. But Pierre is unlike anyone Louise has ever met. A withdrawn genius with a unique sense of wonder and logic, he is under scrutiny by the state, for possibly being a danger to himself. Intrigued by his eccentric personality and candid innocence, Louise’s kids are drawn to Pierre, yet despite her attraction to this odd and brilliant man, Louise tries to keep him out of her already complicated life and broken heart.

This is a French movie with subtitles. Every component of this movie was well done and blended well other parts of the whole. Acting, musical score, photography, plot development were all first rate. This is a low-key romantic film without a lot of drama, so some viewers who like explosions and crashing helicopters/buses/boats/prople may not appreciate the finesse of the personal interactions. Oh well. I went back after the rental period was over and bought the movie. Sometimes there are nights when this kind of movie is just right.
  • KEY Concept For The Movie- It Is Sweet On The Surface.

If only the underbelly were as innocent?! “The Sense of Wonder” movie is dripping with sweet visuals of honey, fresh fruit, flowers, and homemade pastries, puffy white clouds, beams of sunlight and light reflections in many forms, fuzzy flower seeds blowing in the wind… honeybees, kind of catches one up… in the feel good breeze. It is ‘mesmerizing’… with a sentimental lovely musical soundtrack, quality acting, quirky enjoyable humor and an eccentric, romantic vibe. This movie was designed to be extra appealing and comforting to the five senses (which increases psychological and emotional receptivity). Although, just beneath the surface is a less than sweet story, delivered through symbolism with a clever, relentless diligence, a real life chessboard! A dark persuasion disguised as ‘illumination’. If only people could trust this ‘light’… but it operates in the shadows, underneath and in between, as above so below. It is a world inside of our world, covert and clandestine. “A” multi-layered cover-up world, where the serpent consumes his own tail and the eagle is two faced, a world where duality is played like an Ace in the hole by those who desire to force their ‘Blue Will’ on the rest of the world. They mistakenly believe they are rightfully entitled to control the rest of us. However, deceitfulness does not qualify as anything enlightened or noble.

In the world of dark movies this does not exist. Love. This is a lovely and innocent story and it shines from beginning to end. I enjoyed it so much and wish there were more like it.
