I’d rather rewatch the first 7 minutes of Saving Private Ryan over and over again before I watch another minute of this movie.

I’ve seen Cats onstage and now in this movie. I enjoyed both, yet the movie allows for more movement in the dancing and acting. I wish Broadway would do this with other plays like Le Miserable and West Side Story. It would be great to see the Lion King on a set and other plays onstage in movies.
  • Be nice dude. Just BE NICE dude.

Overall, this is a fantastic movie. I love Mungojerrie and Rumpelteazer especially! I will admit the CGI is kind of creepy, but you just have to ignore Munkustrap’s hairy fingers. (If you didn’t notice that and now you know, you’re welcome. If you didn’t notice and now it’s going to distract you, I’m sorry) but just be nice people okay? Just listen to this: “We love, we lie, we fall, and we fly. We win, we lose, so for now let’s all enjoy this view,” -Surfaces

Don't get me wrong, the dancing and singing is amazing, but the CGI is incredibly unappealing-I didn't want to look at it. This movie stuck almost completely to the original musical, so congratulations on that. But overall, a truly disgraceful movie.Disrespectful to the musical. Definitely do not recommend.

people are saying “doesn’t deserve the hate!” it was rushed, it’s creepy, the actors are bad, it’s unfunny, lazy, poorly done, and ridiculous. the entire movie is nightmare fuel.

I am NOT a big musical person, but absolutely loved this! Having watched both the 1998 play (film) and the 2019 movie several times I can honestly say that the 2019 movie feels like I’m placed into their world whereas the original play feels like I’m simply watching a play. I remember constantly seeing commercials for this musical on tv as a kid growing up right outside NYC, but never had the opportunity to see it live in person when it was on Broadway. Not sure why all the negative reviews, they may be from purists who always prefer originals and believe all remakes are crap. The CGI looked really good to me throughout and I liked how their ears and tails appeared to move independently from the rest of the body. Very recommended!!
