Not overdone with jump scares. Creatively creepy, not overdone with gore. Good effects and great acting, and nice story/writing. All components of a good scary movie!

Normally I don’t get get scared watching movies, but this movie is freaky. It implies it’s based on true events. When Hollywood takes over more than 90% are untrue. It’s hard to tell if any of this really happened in real life ,but it’s very entertaining.

It starts off seeming like it’s going to be just another cheesy found footage horror movie but give it a chance. The tension builds and builds and by the end I was horrified and clutching my big dog for safety. I’ve been a horror lover all my life and I’ve seen them all, from the big hits to underground stuff like August Underground. This got under my skin in a big way.

I haven’t been freaked out by a horror movie since i was around the age of 10, and this movie completely changed that. It’s honestly terrifying to watch, let alone at night in a dark room alone. The basement scenes always gave me chills, and the piano sound will stay in your head all night. This is what an excellent horror movie looks like, and i cannot believe more people don’t mention this movie in their horror film lists???
