Description

Little Fish, the fourth feature film from director Chad Hartigan, is a romance set in a near-future Seattle teetering on the brink of calamity. Starring Olivia Cooke, Jack O'Connell, Soko and Raul Castillo, the film opens in the midst of a global epidemic: Neuroinflammatory Affliction, a sever and rapid Alzheimer's-like condition in which people's memories disappear. Couple Jude Williams and Emma Ryerson are grappling with the realities of NIA, interspersed with glimpses from the past as the two meet and their relationship blooms. But as NIA's grip on society tightens, blurring the lines between the past and the present, it becomes more and more difficult to know what's true and what's false.

Beautiful, sad, and relevant to our times. Wonderful acting by the two main leads brings very intimate and emotional experience to a very personal and devestating story. Ultimately demonstrates the futility of it all which may not be exactly the message needed right now. However, serves as a reminder that what we think we've just put behind us may only be the beginning of a long and potentially terminal road ahead for us all. And when it ends it won't be with a bang, but rather in gradually devolving chaos expressed in the form of millions of small tragedies. Sobering.

Loved this movie! Very beautifully shot. The performances were endearing especially from the two main couples. Heartbreaking story that is extremely timely. Can’t recommend highly enough!

Saw this in the theater today. Imagine a pandemic where everyone starts to get what is basically early-onset dementia. Friends and lovers in their twenties and thirties have to fight and come to terms with this forgetting. It’s a beautiful film, told with such conviction and realism. If you like a slow-burn realistic tale of love and connection, you ought to like this one.
