Just two credits from graduating from the Madame Sally School of Beauty, Sylvia Pickel (Cyndi Lauper) is a flashy, man-hunting medium with a "spirit guide" named Louise and adventure in her future. Museum curator Nick Deezy (Jeff Goldblum) can hold an object and tell you where it's been and what's happened to it. It’s a talent that wreaks havoc with his personal life. Gifted though they may be, Sylvia and Nick have no premonition that their lives are about to converge. Coaxed by a devious psychic researcher (Julian Sands) and a conniving opportunist (Peter Falk) into pooling their extraordinary powers for a mission of mercy in the mountains of Ecuador, the two become unwilling participants in a perilous but hilarious search for the treasures of a lost civilization.
