The Delicacy

This is such a beautifully filmed documentary. There is an entire world that I had no idea existed. Who ever thought that you could eat one of those? The people in this film were amazing. Their work is dangerous yet so interesting. And they do it every day! I have now watched this film several times and continue to learn more each time. Thanks for sharing this with us.

I absolutely loved this film! Beautiful cinematography, great story, and such passion unfolding from this important group of people you probably never knew existed. Jason Wise and his talented team knocked this one out of the park.

I’m a huge fan of all things seafood especially those things considered “delicacies” of the sea, so I couldn’t wait to watch this film. Wow - so much more than I expected. The stories woven throughout are exceptional and I found myself more than once becoming emotional. The film itself is something of beautiful. You could essentially freeze any frame in this documentary and it would be considered a work of art. Congrats to Jason Wise and Jackson Myers for another absolutely beautiful film! If you’re a fan of the SOMM Films, you will LOVE this!

Loved the documentary! Great history on the Abalone and Sea Urchin industries off the coast of California. Beautifully filmed with great characters giving us a glimpse into the dangerous journey that brings this wonderful delicacy to our plates! Makes you really pause and think about all the efforts that go into the food we consume, that all too often we take for granted

What an amazing movie. I’ve never had sea urchin but I find the subject fascinating. Such in depth scenes and the cinematography jumps off the screen. Don’t watch it hungry! Great movie!
