Made In China

I think this must be the worst film I have seen in many years. And I generally love Indie films. The acting is terrible, the 'hero' is an idiot, the story is confusing with lots of red herrings and guns on the mantle, the ending is inexplicable. It's a complete waste of money and time, and frankly, it was an insult to my intelligence. I don't understand all the five star reviews - except that maybe they were written by friends and lovers of the cast and crew?

Loved this film: gorgeously shot, fresh, real, you can tell they were on the ground and trying to bring a real experience to the screen with young talent. Totally exceeded my expectations for an Indie and just loved the vibe! Recommend!

I feel like I learned a lot about how beautiful China is from this movie! Great lead actors made me care about them and feel very invested in them. The night scenes…like a love letter to nightlife and to China. Watch on surround sound! The sound, the music, the layers of what you hear is so painterly and its own art. Fun plot. You root for this character but you also root for him to not keep running. Fun watch. How did they make this movie in China? Well done.

We had so much fun watching this. Great story and acting by these terrific and fresh talents. Loved all the scenes of Shanghai and the way it was filmed gives the story even more immediacy and edge.

I was very impressed by this film. I went in with an open mind and was moved thru a range of emotions: suspense, excitement, fear, happiness, joy. I know a movie is good when I think about it for many days after and realize how much it affected me. I did some research and actually this movie won several awards at film festivals, even during the pandemic! Wow!

This movie is fun to watch— and beautiful to look at. Shot on location, it includes authentic footage of scenery and landscapes that offer a glimpse of China most westerners never see. Definitely worth renting or purchasing!

I had the pleasure of seeing an early version of this film several years ago. I cannot wait to see the final product!
