Swallowed

Didn’t expect to like it as much as I did.

More of a thriller/drama than a horror movie. Focuses on two friends who swallow and smuggle a new fangled hallucigenic inducing organism/drug compound across international lines that goes horribly wrong. Lots of crackling homoerotic sexual tension and some unapologetic male frontal nudity that you don’t see in movies these days made for a queer centric ride. Mark Patton goes full ham as the bad guy in this role and I enjoyed the camp, eroticism and twisted uncomfortable sexual situations. More like 3.5 stars but I rounded it up to 4 to offset all the unjustified homophobic reviews posted by the masculinity so fragile crowd on here. Worth a watch if you’re down for this kind of ride. Didn’t love the ending though.

Propaganda and boring

Great chiller. Gets under and inside your skin. Creepy

The definition of horror can be widely disputed , no, this is not a horror movie in the traditional sense. However, it is well done Horror. Well acted .

First, this is very low budget and has an early 90’s Gregg Araki vibe. It’s not horror - it’s not even horror adjacent. While decently acted, it’s very graphic but in a somewhat exploitative way (no monsters, no slasher stuff). It was interesting seeing Mark Foster, who played Jesse in Nightmare on Elm Street 2, but his character was one-note and pretty hard to watch (but he leaned into it). Not recommended.

Unrelentingly tense and surprising

Horrible movie. Absolutely awful. Worst I’ve ever seen I think. Negative stars should be an option for this one. Wouldn’t watch again if they paid me. Gonna delete it from my queue and pretend I didn’t waste my money on it.
