  • Wasn’t feeling it

Pretty boring even with a short run time. While the acting and dialogue is believable the characters are annoying. While I think stories about emotional manipulation and emotional abuse in relationships are valid stories that need to be told this movie just didn’t really have much of a plot to latch on to. It was hard to watch someone just be so passive and allow someone to emotional abuse them over and over. Like he’s not hitting you, grow a spine and tell him to f himself or you’re out the door. I gave this movie an extra star to offset people complaining that this movie is “woke” because that isn’t what this movie is about. Definitely not as good as the rotten tomatoes scores would lead you to believe.

Really, really boring. Nothing happens. Not a thriller or suspenseful. Beware.

One of the worst movies I’ve ever seen. Thriller? No. What was the point of the missing girl plot? Kept waiting for something to happen and then it was over. Turns out it being over was the best part. I pity the fool who buys this movie. Instead of renting it, you’re actually better off lighting your $7 on fire. Zero stars if I could. Yikes.

This movie is empowering. For women who have been in abusive relationships, Anna plays a tough role. Her friends see her distress and she eventually takes a stand with their support. It’s not boring, it’s an eye opener to abuse. I have been in a abusive relationship and my heart raced for her….People say nothing happened…I say everything happened. The movie ends with strong symbolism, cleansing herself in the lake. How can people not understand and see this?! Peel yourself away from what you think you know and slide yourself into the characters shoes for a moment. You might learn a thing or two. Beautiful and emotional movie.

Movie is just a regular drama movie. It’s a classic girl stuck to guy thing on a romance level. Movie kind of just stops. No real ending.
  • Thriller?

There was nothing about this movie that was thrilling. I thought maybe the boyfriend would come and do something crazy but that never happened. He just showed up being super annoying. There was a weird humphing scene that was more uncomfortable than anything else. Acting wasn’t bad, it’s just the entire vibe of the movie itself that’s, something. I’m not even sure how to describe it.
  • Just Wow

Whoa! Wow. This movie was an intense yet deep watch. At times, though I’ve never been in the position of Anna Kendrick’s portrayed protagonist, the moments throughout this film where the idea was meant to be understood were more than felt. She and every other actor/actress duly played their parts! If you’re looking for a film where things are popping off or something where you’re at the edge of your seat - well, this probably isn’t for you. A message to almost everyone who rated this badly: what exactly did you think you were getting into by watching this? Such a movie is about life and evoked ethos and mental stimulation. I urge everyone else to just consider reading the rotten tomatoes TLDR on it, “a quietly powerful drama about psychological…damage”. For both myself and The Wifey, this film is a 6/5 stars for many reasons contrary to the popular and common cause; highly recommend.
