ED WOOD: Depp’s lovable, loopy Wood is more used car salesman than artist; all ambition and enthusiasm, but devoid of even an atom of talent. He’s a tireless and effective cheerleader, though, and when we see him watch every take with wide-eyed wonder, we understand that what drives him drives every artist —as Wood himself realizes when he meets Orson Welles and discovers that they share similar problems as “filmmakers.” The center of gravity of the film, however, is the genuinely affectionate friendship that develops between Wood and Lugosi—the latter washed-up, desiccated, addicted to morphine, yet still attempting to retain some dignity. “Ed Wood” succeeds both as “biopic” parody and as a fond, ultimately touching tribute from a visionary filmmaker to a pair of casualties of their own vision.

Great film but can we please buy it.

Look, I could write 6000 words on just how this film works at every level but why waste time with all that. Listen to me, if you have not seen this film see it - when Tim Burton gets it right he is a genius who ranks with the best in history. He takes risks and often the results are, shall we say, less than satisfying. But when this man is in his groove on a film it is just a wonder to behold. No one can hit it further when he gets his pitch. Such is the case with Ed Wood. Everything works. No one, and I mean no one, gets more out of Johnny Depp ( a real talent who is inexplicably ignored for his abilities ) than Burton. Depp makes Ed Wood live. And Martin Landau as Bela Dracula deserved his Oscar. And a shout out to the bartender early on who is Conrad Brooks, one of Ed's cast of "Misfits and dope fiends" - Sarah Jessica Parker's words, not mine! I've met old Conrad a time or two and I can only imagine what this crew was like in their far-gone youth. The Star War Cantina Bar scene meets Woodstock. A film that just gets better every time you view it. Thank you Mr. Burton; it is a joy forever.

Why can't I buy this film???

This movie is halarious! I love this movie! Johnny depp and Tim Burton are awesome! Johnny portrays Ed Wood so well! I see some Willy Wonka in Ed Wood. An overall great movie, and it really should not be rated R compared to the crap they put in most movies today that slide. I recomend this movie to anyone, espically someone wanting a good laugh. Awesome!

Come on Apple, let us buy this movie.

This movie is hallarious!!It will make you feel so happy.Just seeing Johnny Depp all smiling, and enthusiastic throughout the whole movie. Although Sweeney Todd is the best Johnny Depp film, Ed Wood is Amazing as well. I'm Johnny Depp's biggest fan,so if you like Johnny, you will like this movie.A must see!!Fantastic!!
