It’s a good movie overall. It’s not as good as the book and is very different with much less content (Sir DeKere getting killed by mill explosion instead of Marek), but its still enjoyable. The action sequences are realistic and exciting (except the armies only using regular arrows by command). Is it worth watching? Yes. Is it the best movie? No. For this I give it a 4 out of 5.

Reviewing the Movie Only…this movie has it all. I am sure that the book was far better … books usually are better. Since I never read he book, I will simply review this by its screenplay, the flow of the story, and acting. First, this was not a special effects movie. Many people (inexperienced, yuoung, easily impressed by pyrotechnics) tend to love anything that keeps the nervous system over-amped. This movie has its exciting moments, but like any truly good story, it relies on the plot, and good acting to pull off the production. It scores highly in all of these aspects. Now, that said, O’Conner’s character was a bit over-the-top. As ‘into’ a field of study as one can get, few are ridiculously infatuated with science itself as portrayed here. And I say this having been around scientists most of my life. Her character was unrealistically obsessed. That said, she was countered by Butler’s believable acting. The bad guy plot and final ending are weak in my opinion, but the overall story, the immersion in history, and of course romance through time…are charming arcs that never get boring if done correctly. Anna Friel is every man’s perfect (and adorable), feisty French woman; strong willed, but a feline that melts like butter on a hot scone when the time is right. They made a perfect movie couple! Any Man’s dream should include Anna Friel (as an auburn-haired French heroine), a baguette and a bottle of fine white wine, in an idyllic French countryside ... in the Springtime! Of course, you’d need a brief swim in a warm river! A charming (if not so scientific) jaunt through time which I found as almost as endearing as “Peggy Sue Got Married,” but with a harder dramatic edge. Forget the nay-sayers. Pop some corn, grab a cold one and sit down and be entertained (and don’t forget your French-English dictionary).

Timeline straddles the genres of crunchy action, sic-fi, and historical fiction. That mix doesn’t sit well with stodgy critics, but if you’re looking for a fun action romp, this one will fill your evening nicely.

This was an awesome movie, just because some critic didn't like it doesn't change that.

I think it is absolutely ridiculous that this movie as well as others are only available for sale on iTunes. First of all, this movie is not good enough to own and secondly, even if it was I am not one to really buy movies and watch them over and over again. Please put this movie and all other movies into the "Rent" category so that we have more options. My rating has nothing to do with the movie but rather iTunes for not making it available to rent. If I had to rate the movie I would give it 3 stars

If they go back to the same exact time and place everytime, then everyone who has gone back will always appear at the same place when anybody else goes back....my brain hurts. Dang, gaping plot holes.
