I saw this movie when it first came out, and decided to rent it and watch it again. It's actually a pretty good film, which is a shame, because if I hated it I could've said things like "Better Luck Next Time" or "Changing Lanes is not only the title, but the story format." Though the dialogue isn't that strong, it is well executed by Jackson and Affleck, at probably their most serious of roles (cough cough Snakes on a Plane cough Daredevil). And the story manages to keep a steady path to an ending that simply encourages people to do right by others. I don't know if I would say BUY IT. There's not a whole lot of HIGH POWER ACTION BURST OF ENERGY. I just don't feel this is one of those movies that you would pull out from time to time. I've seen it three times in the past 5 or 6 years, so I think that qualifies under "worth the rental price." Overall, I think people should watch it, AT LEAST once.
  • For you who have the attention span of some kid. . .

This happens to be a startlingly well-made drama, and the fact that most people couldn't have the patience nor the intelligence to appreciate it is saddening. In any case, it's a great buy!

Probably the best acting I've ever seen from Samuel Jackson and Ben Affleck. Great story, solid acting and direction. Memorable long after the viewing.
  • unrealistic

After about the first five minutes this film becomes alternately boring and unrealistic. Both main characters doing things that you could never expect them to do. Example: Jackson's character is told there has been an accident with his kids at the school. So he goes there in a rush, and is told by the principal that there was no accident and his kids are fine. So does he thank her and wonder what's going on? No, he starts running through the school shouting his kids names. Doesn't tell the principal about the fake call he received. Nothing. Completely unrealistic.
  • Jerky camera movement

If you're one of the many that can't stand the style of using jerky camera movement, then pass on this movie. It probably won't affect you as much on your iPhone/iPod, but it drove me nuts on a big screen. The movie itself is interesting, but fairly improbable. Really stretches the boundary of believeability. The acting is good (****), the story fairly good (**), jerky camera movement (*) overall (***)
  • Worth watching

Don't get carried away by the negative reviews. This movie has a good build up and feels very real. 99 cents was a steal for renting this. Thank you iTunes for putting up some great movies for 99 cents rental. Last week it was 'Ghost and the Darkness' another good movie, though not a box office hit.
  • Good, but didn't like the ending

I liked everything except the ending. Also the movie is pretty good, except throughout, Samuel Jackson has an unrealistic temper. To sum it all up, it is worth the 99 cent rental, just not worth the time it takes to finish the movie.
  • GREAT MOVIE !!!!!!!

This movie is great !! The plot line is crazy. It has you wondering what is going to happen next. Ben Alfleck and Sam. L. Jackson are amazing actors and you tell in the work. You should watch this movie it is worth it.
