Description

Based on James Houston's true story of an Arctic adventure, The White Dawn relates the story of three sailors who are separated from their ship during an Arctic hunt for polar bear and walrus. Eskimos who live on Baffin Island, just south of the North Pole, save their lives, but one angry sailor brings fear and violence to all. Magnificent location footage and realistic hunting scenes bring a striking flavor to the intense and passionate conflict.

So much drama in the trailer. Makes me want to buy this.

...since I saw this movie, but I remember being so very, very bitter about having watched it that I'm prompted to write this. If you like a movie that tenderly develops compelling and likeable characters, really draws you in, and then right at the end they all get slaughtered - you'll enjoy this. If you're like me, you'll be ready to spit on the filmmaker.

Amazing film - saw it first during first run (way back when) - still remember being stunned by the beauty of the scenery - the battle with the polar bear is still vivid, still remarkable.
