Don Johnson stars in master action thriller John Frankenheimer's (director of RONIN, FRENCH CONNECTION II and the original MANCHURIAN CANDIDATE) underrated classic Dead-Bang. It's great to see it finding new life in digital form, as this story (inspired by a real cop) of an L.A. Detective tracking a gang of murderous neo-nazis across the country deservers to find a larger audience. Johnson is perfect, the action is intense (an explosive gunfight in the packed city streets and a deadly game of cat and mouse in a series of underground tunnels are a couple of the highlights) and the conspiracy working against our hero is vast. A solid, suspense filled ending with a little twist as well. Check it out, it's a must for cop thriller and action fans. No cgi, or slick pop song filled soundtrack. This is a callback to thrillers like French Connection and Dirty Harry.

An underrated movie when it was released, this movie has stood the test of time. Don Johnson's performance is dead on as a dedicated cop trying to deal with the wreckage of his life and the moronic politics of the LAPD. He discovers information that leads him across country in pursuit of nasty right wing killers. He is gritty, not without humor, and his perseverance is remarkable. Lots of action, lots of tension, and a take on his Sonny Burnett character from the Vice, but quite distinctly harder (if that's possible), with less remorse. Don is the real deal. You will love this movie, especially his psych evaluation scene-that alone is worth the movie. Watch it.
