Description

Ethan Hawke and Laurence Fishburne lead an all-star cast, including John Leguizamo, Ja Rule and Drea de Matteo, in the explosive, action-packed thriller, Assault on Precinct 13. Run-down Precinct 13 is about to close its doors forever. But everything changes when some of Detroit's most lethal prisoners arrive. Soon, the only thing more dangerous than the criminals on the inside is the rogue gang on the outside. To survive the night, two men on opposite sides of the law will have to work together to battle an enemy who doesn't follow the code of cop or criminal.

It's an movie that is okay to watch once if nothing else is on but after its pointless to watch because of the poor acting with some of the characters (ja rule, the short haired black actress)
  • Solid action movie. This is a "B" action movie

I found some great acting here and some big names toned down. Some intense moments are in side... some predictable, some not so much.... all in all this is a thumbs up flick!
  • Dumb movie, great actors

It's too bad the plot and over-wrought dramatic conventions (implausible bad guys, annoying music, the flawed hero) dumbed down the dignity of an otherwise classy cast. I love escapist crime twisters, but this one is just too canned to enjoy.
  • Not bad-the first version was far better

This was an ok take off on the "Assault on Precinct 13" cult Classic, the fist version, a little campy at times due to poor special effects, was just great and a much better pic, this one is ok and without the typical "All police are corrupt" angle this thing takes. In the first, the criminals are still pretty noble, at least one of them is, the cops are just human and the majority are just folks re-acting to the chaos around them, a much better film and without the predictable bs that so many pics seem to be cranked out by Hollywood today. Why can't we get some more of the classics!?
