Description

Director Darnell Martin's acclaimed debut film stars Lauren Velez, Jon Seda, Rita Moreno and Griffin Dunne as members of a battling Bronx family filled with love, passion and real-life choices. Whenher well-meaning husband China is arrested, a young mother, Lisette, finds herself unprepared to support the family. Fast-talking her way into a job with a record producer Griffin Dunne, Lisette quickly discovers her own hidden talents. But the boys in the neighborhood report back to Chino that Lisette is "dating" her bigwig boss, leading to a major confrontation that changes their life together.

I love this movie! I am a huge Otis Redding fan, but the Barrio Boyzz do their thing in the song Try a little Tenderness. I have been looking for this song by them since the movie came out. I wish iTunes would sell the soundtrack or at the the song. I would definitely buy it. Please consider it iTunes.

This movie is everything u want in a 90's novella. It's so relatable and realistic especially if you have relationship problems. It will make you laugh cry and think about your life choices. This movie is defiantly worth buying.

I LOVED THIS MOVIE FOR MANY YEARS. IT IS A HIDDEN GYM THAT MANY HAVE SLEPT ON. IM SERIOUSLY THINKING ABOUT ADDING IT TO MY COLLECTION.

I absolutely LOVE this movie! It may not be the huge blockbuster-type film that some feel a "good" movie must be but it is definitely entertaining and easy to relate to...regardless of ethnicity. Definitely worth watching.
