One of their best! Coen Brothers. Saw this when it came out to the theatres. Loved it. Great funny exaggerated characters which is a trademark of a Coen Brothers movie. Paul Newman too was great. As usual.

With Coen Bros. films, the artifice either draws you in or pushes you out. Often, they lose me. With Hudsucker, which many can't stand, I love the stylization as serving its satires of corporate kingpins and pawns, the easily overinflated ego of the everyman, and heartbreaks that cynicism can't overcome. It's a cartoon of a movie about serious stuff.
  • One of my favorite screwball comedies.

I love this old Coen bro’s film. One of their best, in my opinion.

What I like about this movie the most is that every aspect of the film is a homage to the classic screwball comedies of the 30's and 40's. No cuss words, no nudity, drugs, brutal violence, just good ol' fashioned slap stick; with a basic hollywood ending with some coen brothers-ness mixed in there. Even the humor is accurate to the time period. Has anyone ever noticed how the antagonists in 30's comedies are always businessmen or ceo's of corporations.

This is one of the better movies you'll come across in your life but chances are you don't know anyone who's seen it. It's amusing, packed with cameos from actors toy love to see but hardly do and the production quality & cinematography are outstanding. Rotten Tomatoes is way off the mark on this one.
  • This is a must see movie

Ok, let me get this out of the way first: Any the professional critics who didn't like this movie, do the exact opposite because their opinion is either drug or booze induced. Ok that being said... Fabulous movie, best actor ever (Paul Newman), and some of the best supporting actors. It is imaginative and it will make you laugh. Watch it, enjoy, and then be prepared to buy your own copy.

This movie is a throwback to the comedies of the fifties. I love the casting, everyone is wonderful. Robbins is great as a naive rube who has a plan. Jason-Leigh was great and reminded me of Katherine Hepburn. Paul Newman is superb as a heartless businessman. The script is great. A lot of great lines in the movie. Take a chance, rent it and enjoy.
