This is a good movie. It has its flaws however it’s better then Thomas Janes portrayal. Man he was overrated. Anyway, this punisher tries to stay true to the comic but strays at times. Ray Stevenson did a good portrayal and put a lot of effort into making this version more gritty and tactical. Honestly I wouldn’t mind seeing a reprisal in this role with a MCU budget. But we know that’s not gonna happen. Bottom line: if you need a punisher fix this is the movie to watch. Hopefully we can get the punisher movie we deserve later on. But this will have to do for now.

This film is a joyride. It is hilarious and doesn't take itself seriously. It is also dark. Batman V Superman has the same rating as this. BVS deserved it, War Zone did not. Punisher is awesome in this. Micro is an awesome sidekick. This is a film that is a comic book brought to life. This film is also proof that critics sometimes are hypocrites.

I'm a huge Punisher fan especially of the Garth Ennis comic books, particularly the MAX series and I gotta say while as a movie this may have its flaws like bad acting from the villains, some corny dialogue from them as well and sometimes more gross than violent this movie is the most faithful the The Punisher and the best treatment he's had thus far (take it how you want). This is NOT. A sequel to the 2004 Punisher film, more of a reboot. I had a good time watching this movie, the directing is legit, the casting of Frank Castle among other supporting actors/actresses, the pacing and majority of the violence is spot on. Judge the movie for what it is and don't take yourself too seriously
  • A Disappointing Punisher Movie

Marvel work in mysterious ways. When they have something that works, they change it. And usually for the worse. The 2004 version of the Punisher, although far from perfect, still gave a promising appeal to the character which looked set to have an interesting future. Sadly this did not happen and any potential sequels fell into development hell. Enter : Punisher - War Zone. Rebooted for the third time, this movie has disaster written all over it. Apart from the rather lost Stevenson & campy acting from its stars, War Zone has no real drive to bring its audience together. An uninspiring version of the character is present and the only thing you are left looking forward to is the ending. If you wish to watch a Punisher flick, rather stick with the 2004 Thomas Jane movie or even the 1989 Dolph Lundgren version. You will get more out of those than this sad entry.

It doesn't try to be more than the average Punisher comic. It just allows the fantasy that evil people get punished, just for a few minutes. Then it's back to the real world.
  • don't mess with frank castle and his family or you're done for

  • It's Not A Critic Movie

This is not a movie made for critics. I am a very tough critic on movies, however. Whenever I see a movie with my family, even critically acclaimed ones (I only gave The Artist and The King's Speech 3/4 stars), I am the only one who says they didn't really like it. With that in mind, I thought, going into this, it'd be an awful piece of garbage I was going to see for the hell of it. It actually ended up being decent. Good action scenes, and you actually feel some pity for the Punisher as a person. I wouldn't go running back to see it, and I'd only consider renting it, but it's worth a watch.
