Brings back sweet memories

When my wife and I were first married, we lived in London. We spent our first holiday season there just the two of us - the whole city was closed for days, and we didn't know many people, so we just stayed home, cooked, and watched old movies on television. In those days, there were only three channels!
It was a wonderful, romantic time and we felt like we were in our own cozy little world. My wife's favorite movie was this sweet, funny, old-fashioned story about a romance in a small town, in which the couple went skating on an idyllic wintry lake called Miller's Pond. We could never remember the name of the movie, but for years we referred to it as "Miller's Pond". The topic always seemed to come up during the holidays, when watching another favorite, "It's a Wonderful Life". Millers pond became our catchphrase for the kind of utopian paradise in which, "nice things happened to nice people". My wife has often remarked wistfully, "dont you wish life could be like Miller's Pond?" Soppy, I know, but unfortunately, that kind of pleasant, nostalgic, cinematic comfort food is too often absent in more modern films.
Anyway, 24 years later, it's that time of year again, and so, after a little googling on my iPad, I find, to my delight, not just the title to our 'Miller's Pond', but that it's available on ITunes!! What a lovely Hannukah present for my wife....Thank you!! And by the way, honey, our 24 years together HAVE been like life on Miller's Pond. Happy Hannukah, I love you....
