Description

Preparing to stake his claim in the new territory, he runs into Shannon who is unhappily reunited with her former fiance.     I am an immigrant and I felt inspired. Ron Howard is a great director and has a big heart. Do not listen to film critics, they just feed of the mass media machine, their hearts are made of stone. In 70 mm, it shines.

    This is great story! Tom Cruise is amazing as usual! Tells a great story of romance and real life history of Ireland and the race for land at the end.

    Reminiscent of classic romantic adventure films, Far and Away is ambitious and unpretentious entertainment. As with the best of Howard's films it also finds great comedic moments as well. Those seeking "edgier" and gritty entertainment will most likely want to look elsewhere, however those who enjoy epic scope romantic adventure with a dose of light humor should enjoy this tale of a mismatched pair of Irish immigrants.

    we watched this in my history class and i loved it. tom and nicole are excellent with their roles, the plot is great, and the setting is great as well. i definitely reccomend it

    This movie is not a typical romance; the in-depth development of both lead characters gives depth to the plot itself and the relationship. Also, this movie has a very personal message to every viewer: understanding the importance of the one you share your dreams with, the one you wouldn't even want your dreams without. The characters, exciting plot rifled with action sequences, the witty dialogue, but most of all the personal message, make this a standout movie, especially in todays market of generalized, fluffy romances.
