Broken Flowers

This movie has potential to be more. I wish the script could elaborate. A lot is left unsaid. Feel like plenty of dead air and empty space to be filled. Pace is slow. It just feels lacking and needs more substance.

Frankly I'm not sure what it is.....no plot no climax....no nothing. 👎👎👎👎

U guys are dumbass's. It's a dark comedy!

this is a beautiful movie but completely miscategorized here as "comedy". that may in part explain the negative reactions of other reviewers. if you're looking for a bill murray comedy and expecting something akin to groundhog day you will understandably be very frustrated with "broken flowers". whatever humor one would find in this film is of the dry, nihilistic variety that won't have anyone giggling out loud. that said this is one of his best dramatic performances. the film is a melancholy meditation on aging and the accumulation of a life's worth of small regrets, vague memories and defeating disappointments interspersed with tragicomic moments of relief. the 60's ehtiopian jazz of the soundtrack is an unseen character that will haunt you long after you've forgotten what the movie was about.

Dull. Slow. Did I mention dull?

There is nothing funny about this movie, it is not a comedy. We kept waiting for it to get interesting and then it ended. A complete waste of time and money.

So if you are just a Bill Murray fan looking to see a funny film, this probably isn't it. This is a very original director painting a picture of a slice of someone's life, and like life it is sometimes grey, awkward, sad and funny. Some really powerful perfrmances, especially Tilda Swinton (Who is not american btw) in this story of a man searching for a son from someone he doesn't know anymore. The conclusion of the movie is also like life, a little unresolved. It won't leave you feeling happy or give you the typical hollywood feeling, nor is it shocking, it just is. The director is really one of the most interesting guys around, and his movies are not mainstream pablum, they are artistic and contemplative. I highly recommend this picture.

Delightfully quirky little film. Bill Murray gives his typical strong performance oozing of sentimentality about a man reconnecting with his past and questioning his present. Worthwhile way to spend a few hours.
