Description

2010 Academy Award (R) nominee for best adapted screenplay, and on over 50 Top Ten critics lists, In the Loop is a smart comedy from the acclaimed team who created the award-winning BBC TV comedy series Alan Partridge and The Thick of It. The film is drawing instant comparisons to some of the great political and absurdist comedies such as Doctor Strangelove, Wag the Dog, and Monty Python. With razor-sharp, truly laugh-out-loud dialogue, the film pokes fun at the absurdity and ineptitude of our highest leaders. With everyone looking out for number one and the fate of the free world at stake (but apparently incidental), the hilarious ensemble cast of characters bumbles its way through Machiavellian political dealings across continents and toward comic resolutions that are unforeseeable. This must-see indie comedy from IFC Films stars James Gandolfini , Peter Capaldi and Steve Coogan.

I laughed over and over at this movie. If you have ever worked in government or even a bureaucracy, you'll find this all too close to the truth. Not as over the top as The Office, but in the space between Office and House of Cards….

This is an amazingly well-written, hilarious movie. Steve Coogan's role is small but powerfully funny.

Brilliant satire. Phenomenal dialogue. More curse words than I would like but takes away nothing from the movie.

Definitely not worth renting. Boring dribble.. Not sure why it gets any good reviews.

I went back and bought the original series "The Thick of It" because I enjoyed this film so much. It is a steal at $5.99

WHen the critics agree it is either a great sign or the worst. This is a worst case scenario where a movie is given the thumbs up simply because it reinforces their political views. It is not funny, it is not thought provoking, and it fails to hold your attention except when you dose off and one voice causes you to dream you are watching the Sopranos. Save your money and watch...I don't know, anything that the paid critics hate.

I haven't seen this movie yet because Apple won't let me rent it. Apple said that rentals would begin in April 2010 and it is now May with no option to rent. I reiterate the point made below: PLEASE MAKE THIS MOVIE AVAILABLE TO RENT!
