despite the nominations for awards suggested, it was rather predictable and silly. Lacks creativity

Somehow I thought I was renting an Italian movie and got a French one instead. But I got over that. The story was interesting, and I especially liked the character of the old guy in the park. Some of the other characters remained cyphers, but that may have been intentional, since the heroine never gets to know anyone all that well--which is, I think, part of the point of the story. The premise that hypnosis could lead to the bizarre results these sophomoric truth-seekers actually get is a bit hard to buy, but the actors did a fairly good job of selling it by not overdoing it. Like most of the French art films I've seen, it pushes a little to hard to Make A Statement, but it was worth watching.
