Description

Camille (Audrey Tautou) works evenings as an office cleaning woman, and makes graceful drawings in her free time, living in the attic of a Parisian apartment block. Philibert (Laurent Stocker) is a young, aristocratic history buff living - temporarily - in an apartment lower down, part of the estate of his late grandmother. He has let out part of it to up and coming cook Franck (Guillaume Canet), a gruff young loner and womaniser with a genuine love for his frail grandmother, Paulette (Francoise Bertin). When Camille falls ill, Philibert insists she stay with the two of them so he can look after her. And even though she and Franck clash, the trio manage to live together and learn from each other.

This was not the film that I thought it would be. And I mean that in the very best way. Please watch it. I won’t spoil it for you. One caveat: I would recommend this to anyone who is mature.

Guillaume Canet and Audrey Tautou are at their best in this amazing romantic comedyfrom a great book. A must-see of modern French cinema.

I listened to the book and absolutely loved it! So I went on to watch the movie and I have never been as disappointed by a performance as in this movie. Tatou and the guy do a really bad job impersonating these beautiful characters. And the movie was so slow compared to the book. I never write reviews but had to for this. so disappointed!

A wonderfully written plot that brings together a great mix of interesting characters in a believable way. Guillaume Canet’s character is a tad much, but the rest are spot on and well acted. The ending, though predicable, is heart warming. Subtitles are done well.

A sweet film about three young people searching for their lives and loves and one older person searching for her happy ending. Berri's second to last film. Charming, witty, very human film. Makes you want to be in France and taste the pastry, to stretch the metaphor. People who like people will like this ensemble. 4.25.

I really loved this movie, it was simple and so correct in the interpretation of love. I've always loved way watching foreign films. In this film I see so many similarities although it is from a different culture as mine, but I also get the chance to see how the French appear to be so comfortable in there skin. I loved the experience of this movie and embrace the storyline while heatedly.
  • A must see for Audrey Tautou and great french movies fans!

A lesser known film with Audrey Tautou and the great Guillaume Canet (Farewell, Love Me if You dare) but among my favorite of hers after Amelie :-) A mix of Comedy, Romance and Drama like only the French can do!
