The only good thing was the father pledge. Be nice if they’d sell those framed pledges. The subplot of Javier… oh brother. To this day, it’s a running gag with my family when we’re low on food. “Oh Javi we only have one torte left.” The issue is: Christians - can - NOT - act! If you had the same plot, storyline and characters and replaced them with actual A-B class actors, wow what a movie! But since they’re all cast mostly from the same mega church, it’s really lousy. It’s cringeworthy. I’ve seen Christian movies since the 1970’s and they just get worse and worse. Kendrick loves to see himself in everything and for a director and lead actor in all his low budget movies, sorry to sound mean but he looks unhealthy in them except “facing the giants.” If I want a nap, I could watch this movie in the background to sleep or listen to Biden talk.

I like this movie because of the way it shows how hard it is to be a police family and the message is good.
  • Probably one of the best Christian movies ever made

Usually, the critics don’t give the Kendrick Brothers movies the credit they deserve due to its low budget. But here’s what they can’t see. If you look past it, there’s a good story with an inspiring message in it. And Courageous is an incredible film that might not be a cinematic masterpiece, but is still as intense, emotional, funny, and Christian as we expect from a movie like this. Clearly, the Kendrick Brothers hold the pinochle of Christian movies. Out of all of them, this is the one I liked the most. I highly recommend buying it. Ignore the critics and listen to the people who have actually seen this incredible film. It’s an amazing film about fatherhood and how dads can create an impact on their families. And that’s a message that no cheap budget can bring down. Go watch it (over a projector if you have one (cause the music and action sequences are cool too)).

Rotten Tomatoes does this movie, and audiences, a huge disservice. Some themes are not expected to be dealt with subtlely, and the intentionality of the messages within - primarily the responsibilities and underestimated role of fatherhood - is certainly one of them. Indeed, the point of the movie is to hit home with this message as a counter to popular messages and expectations of fathers in popular culture today. I found this movie to be entertaining, inspirational, and thought-provoking. I loved it and my kids have also!

Again this was refreshing to see! It keeps me praying daily for my family, my wife, and my children. Cynthia, Christian, Michele, Michael, Donte`, and Maurice. This is a challenge for all men who calls themself a father!

This is a REALLY great movie you have to see this. It's funny, has action, and a GREAT message about the calling that God has put on a father. Alex and Stephen Kendrick always have good movies like this, I hope they come out with a new movie this year! God sure has blessed those guys with a talent, and great thing is their using it all for Jesus. God bless the people that made this movie and whoever reads this review!✝

Such an idiotic movie. This is just another example of the low standards Christian filmmakers have.
