I'll be spending the next few hours pulling Jesus out of my throat... constant presence of cliches, bad acting, bad writing, and awful Christian music. This was horrible to sit through 2/3rds of it... I stopped it with 30 minutes left. A 13% rating is Generous.

It doesn't feel polished, acting isn't amazing. But like the storyline itself, it has this powerful "underdog fighting for it's place" vibe to it. It is raw and authentic. I found it hard to resist reacting to the emotional moments in the film. I found it hard to resist the feeling of encouragement this film drives forward. Whether or not you agree with the message, the film is quite certainly worth watching. It is incredibly inspiring and moving and great for a family movie night!

Sadly, Rotten Tomatoes pans it because it has a tin ear for Christian themes. But to the family thirsty for a movie that touches the God-shaped hole in your heart - and one that does it with laughter, poignancy, and skillful storytelling - you can't miss with a Kendrick Bros.' movie. See them all!

Even if you don't buy into the religious Dogma, this is a great sports movie. Only Friday Night Lights is better than this one and that's a compliment!
