Description

From the writer of Training Day comes a gripping, action-packed cop drama starring Academy Award® nominee Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Peña. In their mission to abide by their oath to serve and protect, Officers Brian Taylor (Gyllenhaal) and Mike Zavala (Peña) have formed a powerful brotherhood to ensure they both go home at the end of watch. But nothing can prepare them for the violent backlash that happens after they pull over the members of a notorious drug cartel for a routine traffic stop. Seen from the point of view of the officers, gang members, surveillance cameras, dash cams and citizens caught in the line of fire, a 360° perspective creates a gritty, compassionate and intense portrait of the city’s darkest streets, and the brave men and women patrolling them.

First class filmmaking. Tough to watch. Too real.

Most realistic cop movie I’ve seen with an amplified timeline of life on the beat.

This movie had a lot of f bombs, dead people, shoot outs. But it had heart most of all, to best friends working together their lives. Really well done and shows you some of the worst that cops have to go through. Thank you for showing it in such a personal way the sacrifice they give for us. Thank you officers!

This film was much stronger and more moving than I might have guessed. It's solid like its characters and it stayed with me for a few days after viewing.

THIS MOVIE IS AMAZING! There is a lot of cussing in it but, it’s rated R! So everyone should stop complaining about things as if it was unexpected!! Even before the movie, it show “Rated R” and “slight sexual slurs, violence, strong language” my uncle was a police officer, he got injured on duty while dealing with someone resisting arrest... he told me that this movie was exactly like how him and his partner were like to each other.😂 only they never got into that many shootouts... the ending gets me every time... strongly suggest to anyone who loves police and action/drama movies and can handle such language

I loved this flick enough that I still watch it regularly. It’s funny, action packed and a decent enough story about two cops.

It had some good parts and some silly parts in it. Too many F-words, that was unnecessary. I did not like the camera idea as well. The best Ayer movie.
