THE ANIMATRIX takes fans far beyond the boundaries of the movie screen and deeper into the vast, mind-bending realm of The Matrix in nine visually stunning stories that introduce new characters and scenarios and that further the mythology of the film trilogy, amplifying the cinematic experience. Conceived by the Lilly & Lana Wachowski, the creators of the films, The Animatrix pays tribute to the Japanese animated artistry known as "anime" and features the work of seven different directors -- the world's foremost anime filmmakers -- from Japan, Korea and the United States.
