Description

Four young friends set out to live on just $1 a day for two months in rural Guatemala. Armed with only a video camera, they battle hunger, parasites, and extreme financial stress as they attempt to survive life on the edge. An unimaginable reality for most young Americans, the challenges they face are real and plague over 1.1 billion people around the world. While the friends quickly learn there are no easy answers, the generosity and strength of Rosa, a 20 year old woman, and Chino, a 12 year old boy, give them resilient hope that there are effective ways to make a difference.

  • For those that are complaining...

After seeing this film people living in first world countries would be greatly thankful they can have an education, shelter, and a financially stable life. Sometimes we complain that we don't have the latest technology or clothing but think it twice. In the documentary, they were in a cycle of poverty because they had to drop out of school. For those kids or teens complaining about going to school, you should be thankful because without school you would have a bad future. I hope people who watch this movie would want to change the world and make it a better place.

These kids did something more spectacular than any one of the Hollywood guys can ever do. They showed up with cameras and a backpack and showed us the true face of poverty. Maybe we can learn something and DO SOMETHING. CONGRATS !!!!

Is it good? Is my title because unlike some I love movies that most think are horrible, so the thing is, is that although I liked it, Some might not. Have a good day!!! (I recommend it but again everyone had their own taste)

I have never been so touched in my life one of the people in this film visited my school today And the experience was truly amazing updates: Chino is doing great has a job and Rosa now has 20 palls working with her to make new weavings including shirts that have a front pocket weaved by Rosa Ps. The film group still visits the village

Too many documentaries never quite make a point - just complain about some problem. This one involves a group of people who actually lived the problem, studied it, and offered possible solutions to it. A well rounded, informative and thoughtful video. Your kids will appreciate it as well - the documentary participants are just barely college age. The talked like my kids do, and held their attention throughout. More importantly, I think this was one of the few documentaries that actually inspired them to think about the entire world in which they live, and not just this first world slice of it where most everyone of us watching this video normally resides.

Just saying, there is a spelling error in your description. "...a 20 year old women."

What an incredibly inspiring film. Thanks to these young men, my sons are asking what they can do to help Chino and others like him (and they have done more than ask!) Treat yourself to a truly beautiful and real look at what living on one dollar a day looks like. Be prepared to walk away ready to make a change in the world.

I had the privilege of meeting Zach and Chris and i can honestly say the are two of the most genuine and caring people i have ever met and the things they are doing now are simply amazing. What they did with this film is something incredible and i believe we all can learn a lot of things from it. We have forgotten how to take a step back and really appreciate the blessings we have in our lives and remember that we can make a world of a difference in peoples lives with small acts of kindness. So if any of you guys ever read this id just like to say thank you from the bottom of my heart not just for what you are doing to shed the light on the current situation of poverty but also for reminding us how easy it is to be a better person.

This documentary is very powerful. It is a very small window to what life in extreme poverty looks like. It should be mandatory for every kid in the US to watch it.
