Description

Two of the most popular stars in movie history are brought together for the first time in Rooster Cogburn, the adventure-filled follow-up to True Grit. The legendary John Wayne reprises his role of the eye-patched, whiskey-guzzling U.S. Deputy Marshal that won him an Academy Award. Katharine Hepburn joins him as Eula Goodnight, a missionary who pairs up with the grizzled gunfighter to avenge the death of her father. While in pursuit of the outlaws, a tenderhearted relationship develops between the rough-and-tumble lawman and the flinty reverend's daughter as they join forces to secure justice in the untamed west.

Nothing hidden here. No sneaky subplots or subliminal storylines jumping out of the tall grass to wrinkle your brow. Just pure rockem‘-sockem’ quintessential Duke and his classy Dutchess. May not be True Grit but I’m never disappointed when I watch it.

This is a mediocre film: African Queen In the West. If you're looking to capture the feeling of Wayne's other films of the day, such as True Grit (to which this is a sequel) and The Cowboys, this movie definitely does not have it.

Roster Coburn rides again in this sequel to “True Grit”. Hepburn reprises her character in “The African Queen” as the bible thumping missionary. The plot is pretty simple and the bad guys are just as simple. All the acting is between Wayne and Hepburn, and Strutter Martin who pops up as a river raft captain.

Two of the finest actors... hollywood has ever seen. In a great sequel to True Grit. Hepburn and Wayne made one heck of feisty team! The movie was filled with great lines beautiful Oregon scenery and of course, Great acting! Two of my favorite actors in a phenomenal movie. I'll leave you with one of The Dukes great quote; "Tomorrow is the most important thing in life. Comes into us at midnight very clean. It's perfect when it arrives and it puts itself in our hands. It hopes we've learned something from yesterday." ~ John Wayne. A True American Patriot!

The sequel to 1969's "True Grit", John Wayne reprises his role as "Rooster", and once again he meets a fiesty "Sister". Katharine Hepburn's performance in this was fantastic. Filmed in Oregon there is plenty of beauty to be seen in the scenes, i reccommend this to anyone
