    As someone who is only 18, still in High school & has read the book as well as seen the movie multiple times, this perfectly captures a teenagers life. The drugs, casual sex, and depression. If I had to choose a book to describe a being a teenager in this, this would definitely be it. The only thing the movie is missing that the book perfectly captures is the cruelty of high school and how hellish it actually is. As one high school parties bleeds into another everything becomes less important and it fades. You become numb and simple things will make you happy. I 100% recommend this movie as well as the book! In my opinion I think the book is better in some aspects but the movie is very close to the book. This truly shows a glimpse into the typical teenagers high school life

    Great Indie movie. Perfect for light analyzing and deep thinking, really, really great. Slow, but beautifully portrayed the teenagers and made you think so much it speeds up. Perfect movie.

    Palo Alto is an extreme chronicle of adolescent experience: an extreme example of what goes on in our heads and how far these fantasies can take us - wether it be suicide, drinking, walking though life - silently walking, wondering if they’ll notice, screaming out, hoping they will. regardless if you’re young, or old, society can relate to this film that reminds us that we are all hoping someone will notice. - I don’t know if this will help - but Palo Alto reminded me that I wasn’t alone.

    This is Gia's Coppola's firs film it contain a great impressive cast which made the movie a bit beater basically the film was so so; beater luck mrs Coppola for the next film.

    do not waste your time and watch this. it's the most boring movie I have ever watched. it has no climax and the problems aren't even solved. it's terrible and I just wasted an hour and 30 minutes of my life.

    Literally could not get passed the 40 minute mark. This wanted to be Juno, but failed on literally EVERY level. I even asked my two teen nieces if they could relate to the “reality” and “angst” that other critics (clearly who are neither teens nor females) mentioned in their reviews. My nieces said they have never laughed so hard at a movie because it was so stupid and unbelievable.
