Left to survive in a post-World War society, two mercenary soldiers - Deunan and her cyborg partner Briareos - are sent on a mission on the outskirts of their war-torn city. During the operation, they run into Iris and Olsen, two citizens from the utopian city of Olympus, who might have a way to save the world but the ruthless Talos and the scheming warlord Two Horns have their own plans. It’s up to Deunan and Briareos to safeguard their newfound contacts and help save humanity’s last hope.

Excellent movie! Amazing CGI animation, incredible cast, and a really good story! This is worth a look for those who are Appleseed fans, and/or anime fans.

The CG animation was top notch, the story was very blah….Not a bad rent though if you are a fan of Appleseed.
  • Boring

Never read the series or anything but I watch a lot of movies. The two lead voice actors ruined the movie, there is no inflection in their voices so it is very boring. They are both monotone with no excitement so it makes the movie seem slow and uninteresting. The supporting voice actors carry the movie but it's not enough to save it. In fact this movie is so bad it is still playing as I write this review and everyone in the room with me has already fallen asleep. Lead voice actors are baddies.
  • Redeemed

It was nice to see that this series redeemed itself after the second one. Worth watching for sure!
  • Ludicrous (an insulting) armor for the girl.

I’m not a rabid fan of the series, just an sf fan, but I can’t watch this. That armor, or lack of it, on the female lead is beyond stupid. Let’s let the softest part of a woman warrior hang out int he breeze. That would be like Bri running around with no pants. It makes her sexy for about 5 seconds, then just plain dumb. So dumb it insults the viewer. We’re supposed to care more about her breasts than her character, and that insults the fans who watch this kind of anime for good story and characters they can care about. Producers take note. You’re alienating your audience with this tripe.

I'm a fan of the first 2 movies and when I watched the trailer for this movie, and Briareos was a cyborg, it confused me. It would've been nice to see him pre-metal, but I was still happy with his character growth. I did a bit of research and found out they were rebooting the series. And this is where it begins. Literally. Which is why it's "not cannon" to the other 2 movies. However I like the fact that they kept a lot of the same concepts as it's predecessor.
  • The Appleseed we know, but rush job

Same great quality, but it looks as if they rushed to put this together. No point. Get in blow stuff up, end of movie. They were right, we fans got excited and now after watching it, what was the point? There wasn't one. Bri was made to sound like a junkie. Did Dune need her breast out? No point to that either. What was the point for the comic relief? None whatsoever! I would have given it zero stars if the quality of the movie was less. The story line p o o p!
  • New story, still great

When I first saw previews for it I was wondering if it was going to cover the original OVA. Apparently not. But I still enjoyed watching it and will probably watch it again.

Loved the movie, my rating is for iTunes. If I bought the blu-ray for $19, I would of received almost an hour of bonus materal. Last iTunes movie I buy.
