Description

Black Sea centers on a rogue submarine captain (Jude Law) who, after being laid off from a salvage company, pulls together a misfit crew to go after a sunken treasure rumored to be lost in the depths of the Black Sea. As greed and desperation take control on board their claustrophobic vessel, the increasing uncertainty of the mission causes the men to turn on each other to fight for their own survival.

  • A few issues, but overall a great movie

    With the exception of a few story/plot issues/gaps, I thought this movie was rather good. The one major issue with the movie is how/when they got all the gold off the other sub and onto theirs so quick..one minute there hauling gold off of one sub, and the next thing you know its all on their sub, didn't make any sense...there were some missing scenes here. Other than that, the cast, acting, directing, cinematography, and effects are great. There was a look/feel/mood to this film that I really liked.

    We are way overdue for a classic film about the basic need for survival, egos of men, and many fatal consequences of addictive greed. Fantastic acting. Audience is kept empathetic, hopeful, and slightly hyperventilating. It was so refreshing to have a movie void of nudity and sex. Wish it was longer movie.

    I don’t understand the bad reviews I see here. This was a great movie. Up there with U571 (best sub movie ever) Jude Law was as good as I’ve ever seen him (and different than ever) Tense and unexpected, one of my fav movies I’ve seen in a while.
