This new season of MDL is unwatchable. The new guy is a pretentious, whiny fop. I really feel sorry for anyone who has to shake his hands given that he constantly runs them through his greasy hair. ewwww. This season the show also pretends to address gentrification. It's ridiculous. Fredrik Eklund does a few man on the street interviews and comes to the earthshattering realization that what will address gentrification is cooking classes for kids and a renovated park. It never occurred to him to build affordable housing so that the people who run the shops and actually work in the lower east side of New York can continue to live there. He really thinks parks and cooking classes are doing SOMETHING. What an oversimplified joke. If actually people's lives were not at stake I'd say season is almost as funny as watching Fredrik pretend to pray...I'm not saying don't watch this season - watch it if you must. Just expect to hold your nose and muffle your laughter.
