Description

At the end of the first season, Crows Commander Kane has declared war on Batwoman, forcing everyone around them to choose sides. Meanwhile, Alice is focused on acquiring the one thing that can take down the Bat, with the help of Bruce Wayne’s former best friend Tommy Elliot, now terrorizing the city as the villain Hush. Season two kicks off with a major game-changer that will alter Gotham and The Bat Team forever. A new hero emerges from the shadows. Relatable, messy, loyal, a little goofy, Ryan Wilder couldn’t be more different than the woman who wore the Batsuit before her, billionaire Kate Kane. Living in her van, Ryan has been made to feel trapped and powerless by the system her whole life, and believes the Batsuit is the key to breaking out of it. But what she’ll come to discover is that it’s not the suit that makes Ryan Wilder powerful, it’s the woman inside of it who finds her destiny in changing Gotham City for good.

I don’t care what any other negative reviews say about the series, I have a great feeling about Javicia Leslie and she looks and feels confident about herself. Even if Ruby doesn’t return at all, this show is going to be alright so show your support DC fan's, Batwoman is staying. 😀😀😀

Season 2 has been amazing though I had my doubts at the beginning. Ruby rose left the show after season 1 and I thought that without Kate Kane, Batwoman would fall short and pretty much fail. The story line of the season is wacky and always has me wanting more, not to mention that Jevicia Lesilie brings a much needed more fun personality to the show while clicking with the other characters as Ryan wilder. By the end of the second season, Ryan Wilder is my Batwoman. Sure she’s not from the classic comics but if you need a superhero, she’s it.

This series takes it to the next level! Great acting, story, heart, humor & bat tools to help out. The supporting cast are varied and essential. BatWing is even part of the season Finale! The characters and story are full people with fleshed out stories of their own. High marks all around. Action packed, kick ads & fun! ❤️👍⚔️🎬🎨

i’ll be honest, i didn’t think this show could get much worse after that first season. then they announced ruby rose was leaving, and my hopes for this show were gone. to say i was wrong is an understatement. javicia leslie took this role and created a character who has so many complexities to her it’s beautiful. whereas rose’s performance constantly fell flat, leslie’s remains complex and full of personality. think of it as an onion. every episode leslie peels another layer to that onion, showing a new side to her. she’s not perfect, but she embraces the fact that she’s not. she’s non-judging, and makes decisions following a code of honor and love for people throughout her city. having been a character not seen in the dc comics, there was a lot of pressure to build a superhero origin not done before. this show is beautiful in that we are watching her origin unfold. none of us know where this is going, and that’s the fun of it. i joined this show for the laughs and to make fun. i stayed because of javicia leslie and the character that she is building from the ground up. yes, there’s a lot of hate out there for this show. yes, i see where they are coming from. but having given this show an honest chance, i’ve seen the potential this show has. in addition, i’ve seen the risks the show runners are willing to take to tell a new, darker story. i don’t know if the show will ever get past all the hate. if there was something i could do to convince people more, i would. but for now here’s my review.

**Most of the one star reviews lost in the “politics” of the show seem to be confused about the purpose of super heroes. Which is standing up for those who need help.** The new Batwoman is pretty incredible. She brings great energy while merging in with the cast well. I wish they’d shift focus away from Kate Kane sooner rather than later because it’s dragging the show down.
