Description

David Tennant and Michael Sheen were due to put on a play in the West End before the production was put on hold because of the pandemic. The play’s director, Simon Evans, is worried that his big break is about to pass him by and tries to convince his doubtful actors to carry on rehearsals online.

    Staged is one of the most delightful shows to come out of this COVID lockdown era, mostly performed over Zoom filmed in the actors’ homes. David Tennant and Michael Sheen (or is it Michael Sheen and David Tennant?) play exaggerated versions of themselves, as actors who have had their West End theatrical production delayed due to the pandemic. Their director wants to try rehearsing virtually. Georgia Tennant and Anna Lundberg co-star and frequently run away with the scenes. I know no one wants to see another Zoom video chat to save their lives, but this show does absolutely use the medium to great effect and I could not recommend this show more. I can’t want to see Season 2.
