Definitely the best piece of cyberpunk ever written. Both seasons are a high water mark for anime and science fiction.

Just want to say thanks to the folks that posted reviews about how there is no Japanese audio track. I was about to purchase this and 2nd gig but now I will not as both arw missing a Japanese audio track. I have the SD DVDs for this show but just wanted HD versions. I’ll stick with my SD versions until the Japanese audio is available ON THE HD version of the show, thanks.

The left and right channels for some episodes are swapped (episode 1 is the most obvious). Please correct.

Don't listen to the reviews whining about this being dubbed, this series is still one of the best shows I've ever seen. It has a good mixture of drama and action mixed with a futuristic SciFi setting... What's not to like? If you ever watched any of the episodes on Adult Swim, they use the same dubbed voices which is a big plus in my opinion aswell. By all means, I'm not saying it's perfect but it' definitely worth a watch and definitely deserves better than a 1 or 2 star review. I can't say much more about it other than pay CLOSE attention to every episode! Every episode has it's own plot that turns out being apart of one big plot. It explains everything at the end of the series but it's still fun trying to figure out what's going on on your own. Thanks iTunes for making this available for purchase! On a side note, if you want to want the subtitle version, check out Crunchyroll. You can watch subtitled Anime till your heart is content...You're Welcome! ;-)
  • Great series weakened by some content omissions

I bought this and SAC: 2nd GIG for nostalgia's sake when they were on sale around the time the hollywood movie came out. I enjoyed watching the series again, but I was dissapointed that the iTunes version does not have the original Japanese audio, and does not provide subtitles on shots of writing. This is especially egrigious when they are integral to the plot.
