Description

This epic natural history series reveals the glorious variety of life on Earth and the spectacular and extraordinary tactics animals and plants have developed to stay alive. This is evolution in action; individual creatures under extreme pressure to overcome challenges from adversaries and their environment, pushing the boundaries of behavior. Cutting edge cinematic techniques capture unprecedented, astonishingly beautiful sequences - birds running and dancing on the water's surface in dazzlingly intricate displays of courtship and fidelity, fish outwitting predators by using their fins to take flight, flies competing in a mesmerizing eyeball inflation contest. This is Life - as you've never seen it before. Narrated by David Attenborough.

  • No more CGIs please

Well balanced show, overall, but I felt deceived once I found out CGI was used in the Plants episode. Document "Mother Earth" naturally, keep these computer graphics out. It's a perversion.

I have Blue Planet, Planet Earth, Frozen Planet, and I just picked up this. First off, I will probably buy anything narrated by Dave Attenborough. I have only watched the first episode, but it seems to be of the same high quality as the other ones I mentioned. I recommend that you buy it. If I change my mind after finishing this I will come back and edit this.

I bought this to watch on my Apple TV but once I bought the iPad with retina display I've been buying HD videos and watching it on my iPad instead of my tv. Great quality! Also these videos are good for teachers on days before holidays, very educational!

The first time I watched an episode of this was in my biology class, and it was the best thing we ever watched in there. I've never really been into these animal documentary type shows, but Life is amazing and definitely worth watching!

I saw the first episode, and it's simply amazing. Great footage of life in action is beautiful, seeing a variety of species struggling for survival and reproduction, discloses the deepest mysteries of life.

As I write this, I have Life in the background. The first episode is playing: There's an octopus starving to death as it guards its nest of eggs, which resemble a bunch of white grapes. Before that, a hippo fight showed one running in slow motion. Before that, a type of fly went through some metamorphisis by extending its eye-stalks to impress females and intimidate rival males. This series is more focused on the creatures that are on this planet than Planet Earth's more over-all view. If you enjoyed the likes of Planet Earth, this one is, without a doubt for, for you. Better, faster, and more intimate.
  • Great show, download problems

It's a wonderful program. Beautiful too. Unfortunately I haven't been able to see Episode 6: Insects because it won't download. The download fails at around 600mb every time, saying the file is corrupted. iTunes store customer service hasn't done anything to correct the problem either. Caveat Emptor.
