Description

One of HISTORY’s most loved series returns for more artifactual excitement! In small towns and along America's back roads, treasures are waiting to be uncovered; valuable relics from our history that are hidden in junk piles, buried in barns and stacked in garages. It takes experts to find them…and turn rust to riches. American Pickers follows two of the most skilled “pickers” – Mike Wolfe, owner of Antique Archaeology, and his business partner, Frank Fritz – as they hunt down objects with historical, collectible and pop culture value that have been long forgotten by their owners. Along the way, they meet people whose own stories open a window into American lives and history.

I am a sucker for these types of shows. I love them all, Pawn Stars, American Restoration, Auction Kings, American Chopper, etc.. They are really entertaining to watch. Even the one that deals with Parking, "Parking wars" are fun to watch. This show is no different. It's sort of like "Antique Road Show" on the road. They go into places to find things, very old valuable things that are a part of our nations history and have been either neglected or tossed out in a storage unit somewhere or something. Sometimes they even find nice things somebody has and get them to sell them some of that stuff too. It's all very cool, and this show is really entertaining. They have started doing some things, that seem staged, like in this latest show "Substitute Picker" where Mike's brother goes in Frankie's place, and Frankie shows up at the shop sick, and he keeps having Danniel (Danny D) retrieve him things. It's really bad acting on Franks part, especially when he comes walking in like a poor sick baby....just bad acting, but I guess some like it. I was wondering if they ever got that Rolex appraised, usually, they show if an item they found needs appraising, they shoe it somewhere during the show how much it was, in case they paid too much for it or not. Anyway, never heard if they got an appraisal and if it really was a rolex or not. I do like the show and recommend it to anybody who just wants to kick back and enjoy watching family type fun stuff, and it really is a good show in my opinon.
