Description

After moving to Indiana, young Marjorie Winfield begins a relationship with William Sherman, who lives across the street. Marjorie is a tom-boy, and her father has traditional views not shared by William. Marjorie is forced to learn to dance, despite her and Williams' shared love for baseball.

    This is not among the best of this genre but at its time - 1951 - it was a mega-hit. Think early Meg Ryan and fifty years out of date.

    Everything about this film, and it’s sequel “By The Light Of The Silvery Moon”, is perfection. The music, the family bond, the love and the humor always make me smile. Love to watch these during Christmas!
