  • Plotless and boring!

The previous Star Trek was a lot of fun. Typical Hollywood knows you will watch the next movie even though there is no plot. I took some good naps when I watched this movie. Don’t waste your money or time watching this movie.
  • Worst trek movie

As a life long Trek fan I struggle with the JJ films. The first one was exciting but was all flash and no substance. The second a bad remake of the absolute best movie with a story that made no sense. This one, though, is the worst. As a gay man somewhat offensive with the casual cameo of a disingenuous character adaptation. People who don’t understand this franchise need to stay away from it. JJ is at the top of that list. This isn’t worth a mercy watch.

Like so many JJ Abram movies, I get lost in all the action and forget the story - ACTION, there is way too much action again. Even an Original Star Trek episode is more compelling then these end-to-end action films.

Really Fun entertaining Star Trek Film i enjoyed it so much it wouldn't let me leave the theater. But i didn't see the first or second Star Trek movie because of not a fan of Star Trek but Star Trek Beyond is good and action packed and the style of it is pretty suprising.

My Dad liked the original movies and TV series. He passed away Father’s Day morning after a heart surgery a few days before. So the connection to these movies runs deep. Today is Father’s Day so started the day watching one 😎. Although he didn’t see this series I know he would have liked them. Looking forward to more of them.

I’m not a Star Trek fanatic, but I really enjoyed these movies! The casting, dialogue, and visual effects are great, and there’s plenty of action. This is one of my favorite trilogies and I hope they make a fourth one. Hardcore fans always have something to nag about, but if you’re a casual fan, you’ll like this trilogy. Not many franchises pull off a third movie well, but this one did not disappoint! Looking forward to more adventures with this crew!
  • Ready for a Star Trek threeboot

No spoilers intended! One reason is that the reboot movies have gotten worse. This is the worst of the three. I hoped that the films would become more mature/adult toned over time. It not really. A travel back in time is lame for a reboot. It's in the same fictional universe. They should have started a brand new continuity. Don't like the storyline of this movie as much as the previous. And I expected that James T. Kirk would mature over time, but he doesn't much. Maybe it's not so bad that Anton Yelchin died. That could lead to a triboot. I've been told that small, thin, sleek actors are more appealing to a modern audience. But how could that be? Is humanity evolving smaller heads, higher voices, and thinner bodies? Is it artificial or natural selection? Let's do a triboot (second reboot). For James T. Kirk, let's have an actor that looks like a cross between William Shatner and Chris Pine. Let's have an actor with a deep voice like Leonard Nimoy for Spock. For Scotty, have an actor with a larger head than Simon Pegg but a smaller head than the previous actor. And other things like that.

Much better than the previous film. Slight fan service, but used tastefully with newer ideas. This movie waded in the water, however it did capture some points of Star Trek.
