Description

Hundreds of thousands of cats roam the metropolis of Istanbul freely. For thousands of years, they’ve wandered in and out of people’s lives, becoming an essential part of the communities that make the city so rich. Claiming no owners, these animals live between two worlds, neither wild nor tame – and they bring joy and purpose to those people they choose to adopt. In Istanbul, cats are the mirrors to the people, allowing them to reflect on their lives in ways nothing else could.

Looks like a gorgeous film, but no subtitles were available and I even used iTunes to watch.Though visuals are beautiful and engaging,I needed to have dialogue / narration to keep me interested,so stopped watching.Looks like a great film though and will see if I can stream it with subtitles via another site.

Collection of beautiful people, cats, and the surrounding. It's wonderful documentary film. English subtitle works on iTunes and Apple TV app.

Unfortunately, I couldn't find the English subtitles, so watched it in Turkish. It really didn't matter, because the action was clear. I was in Istanbul about 7 years ago in New Town and saw many street dogs and cats being fed and taken care of by the residents. My favorite scene was walking into the airport for our return flight, and just as we got to the door, a man flew out with a sandwich that he then gave to a dog waiting outside. So sweet. This is captured very well in this movie.

The description is written in English, but the video is not spoken in English and the Subtitles option did not work. An interesting documentary, but without English subtitles, it is quite boring for me.

A modern day ethnography about the relationship of cats to the city of Istanbul, it’s culture and people’s hearts. As a cultural anthropologist, cat lover and someone who loves that city, I can say this documentary warmed my heart and got me hooked from the beginning until the end. The interviews, the cats, the people. They all add up to an amazing film!

Wonderfully directed film with beautiful shots of both the cats living their day to day lives and of the intriguing city of Istanbul, accentuated with valuable life lessons. At $5 this film was an absolute steal!

As much about humanity as it is about cats. And a glimpse of a lifestyle at a pace and in a place so far away.

a little slow at times, but if you love cats, you will absolutely love this movie!! it's gorgeous, just visually stunning! Little mini portraits of various cats living on the streets and of the humans that love them, care for them and become changed by them. The last 30 minutes or so are my favorite moments, they did a great job of bringing everything together in an elegant and dramatic look at the relationship between humans and cats. I highly recommend it!
