Nominated for 3 Academy Awards®. Quentin Tarantino’s eighth film takes place six or eight or twelve years after the Civil War. Bounty hunter John Ruth (Kurt Russell) is racing through a blizzard toward Red Rock to have captured fugitive Daisy Domergue (Academy Award®-Nominee Jennifer Jason Leigh) hanged when he comes across another bounty hunter (Samuel L. Jackson) and a man claiming to be the sheriff (Walton Goggins). When the blizzard worsens, the four take refuge in a mountain stopover where they encounter four more strangers. Soon the tension from the close quarters and the bounty on Daisy’s head lead some to wonder if any of them will make it to Red Rock.

for a quentin terraintitoe movie its a bit light on close ups of feet, but if you’re looking for a nice movie you will enjoy this where all of the actors are acting openly racist, a breath of fresh air in modern day america where racists have currently learned to opt for compound micro aggressions and other less open and upfront methods of acting racist

This is a stunning film shot in stunning 70mm. The cheap 2k transfer does not do it justice! Put the 4K HDR up here!
  • Turns Into Gross Zombie Movie

First half of the movie is passable, if only a bit boring. Halfway through everyone starts vomiting on each other and it gets gross. Also, watching this I concluded that the writer/director of this tripe is actually a hateful and bigoted person. Seriously disturbing movie, and not for the reasons it wants to be.
  • Eh... but the look is awesome.

This is one of those that I would call a “film.” Purely a Tarantino attempt to get the nod from the non drug addict Hollywood as an “artist.” Slow, very slow. It was shot on film and in amazing film stock, so the look is amazing, but you’ll have to be happy about that because once they get inside, they never leave the room. I don’t remember how long it was, it drug on, and on, and on. I think they got tired of it on the cutting floor and just released it before it was 30 minutes long. If you take anything from this, don’t waste your money on this.
  • Highly entertaining

People seem to love this movie, I personally find it highly entertaining. The setting and characters are a new twist on the period... usually it’s highfalutin characters. These guys may have been ripped out of today, life probably wasn’t as different back then as we seem to think. Wondering who’s working with who and what’s going to happen is reminiscent of Reservoir Dogs, another Tarantino film. The dialogue is great, and there are many funny parts. It’s meant to be suspenseful, violent, absurd and entertaining. I found it to be all of the above, in good ways. Kurt Russel and Sam Jackson are highlights, and I thought Walton Goggins carried the last part of the film. Take it or leave it, but I loved it.
  • The Unbelievable Eight.

Started out as a interesting movie with good actors, good plot, great cinematography. As the movie progressed, it became more and more unbelievable and degenerated into just a gore movie. Loved the explosive bloody vomit scenes....not! As if this is the way any kind of poison really works. You’d be better off watching Texas Chainsaw Massacre. At least you know what your getting. This over the top ending ruined an otherwise good movie. One other thing....Samuel Jackson as a black, post civil war bounty hunter! There must have been a lot of those.
  • Western movies should be like this

Tarantino has always been my favorite retro director he always tells good stories alongside violence that makes sense. The Hateful Eight is brutal, shocking, funny and a bit overlong if you love westerns this fim is for you but warning brutal violence.

Great movie, but why is the roadshow version of the movie not included as part of the iTunes Extras?
