I lived and worked throughout LA during the riots of 1992. I had no idea how little I knew and what I did know was the worst. The nightmare of the garbage that was impossible to understand or deal with... a surreal but absolutely true view of this terrible time in the greatest place on earth. I look back in anger and ignorance. But this is why history evolves into great reminders of how close the line is. We are always going to be the first or at least the first place where all people are citizens and the mob. But we are still in need of lessons learned from this truly amazing piece of history. I encourage everyone (especially people who were here during the time) to watch this compilation of perspectives. Thanks for the smartphones that at least expose the very worst and hopefully brings knowledge from imagery and for me memories. Blessings for this great home we share. Respect and more respect.

already saw almost all this footage years ago in another documentary, can’t remember who the producer was of it but definitely had the same exact stuff, really don’t know why they’re marketing it as never-before-seen when it done been seen and you can see it on you tube. glad its still being talked about though.

Wow. So a jury finds them not guilty so they beat white people on the street who had no part of it? How stupid

This documentary was well put together, and I now have a much higher understanding of the LA riots as I was only 12 years old when this happened. Complete and utter shame when civility is completely lost through violence. This is NOT the way to solve any issue!

This is a great documentary on what led up to the LA Riots in 1992, what transpired and where; and they also looked at it from several points of view as well. I lived in Hollywood when these were going on and this is a very accurate film.
  • Great footage but how many times can a story be retold

Technically, raw an never seen footage. A lawyers description. Technically true but realistically false.

I was living on Frankin in Hollywood. Drove out, cops pulled me over for not stopping on right on red, i actually did, but they pulled me over anyway. Down the road, looters and rioters were out on the streets, cops saw them, continued to write me up. I asked them why they spent time on my ticket when stores were being looted in sight, they shrugged, left and drove off in the opposite direction from the looters. That is LAPD, that is why the riots went unchecked. Lived in many big cities, nobody expects perfect police, but LAPD back then was the worst...

Amazing and powerful. Great editing and build up to few chaotic and scary nights!
